KAUAI, HI – A man is under arrest in connection with a deadly hit-and-run incident in Kauai, according to KITV.
It happened Feb. 12, when a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on Nawiliwili Road Near Nokekula Street at about 8:30 p.m. The victim, 30-yaer-old Kailon Tyndzik of Wailua, died Feb. 20.
The driver involved left the scene without stopping to help, and before first responders arrived. The vehicle believed to have been involved was found unattended the following night.
Kauai police subsequently arrested the suspected driver, 54-year-old Salvin Hilario. He was arrested for multiple offenses, including negligent injury with the first degree, leaving the scene of a collision with serious bodily injury, and reckless driving.
