HONOLULU, HI – A man was arrested following two separate collisions in downtown Honolulu on Saturday evening, according to the Honolulu Star-Advertiser.

The incidents occurred in the vicinity of Hotel Street and Alakea Street at about 5:31 p.m.   Honolulu police said a 35-year-old man was driving a four-door sedan when he went through a red light at the intersection.

The sedan collided with another vehicle, driven by a 54-year-old man, and then struck a 37-year-old female pedestrian.  The other driver and the pedestrian were transported to an area hospital.  No details were released on their conditions.

The 35-year-old driver was later arrested on suspicion of first-degree attempted murder.  Charges will be sought with the Department of the Prosecuting Attorney, the report said.

Police are continuing their investigation into the case.
