HONOLULU, HI – Authorities said a man has died from injuries suffered in a moped collision in Honolulu earlier this month.
A news release from the Honolulu Police Department said the crash occurred on April 11 on Kaua Street in the Salt Lake area.
Investigators determined that a 75-year-old man was riding a moped westbound at about 10 p.m. when he lost control of the vehicle and collided with a concrete median. The man was taken to an area hospital in serious condition. On Thursday, the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office notified police that the man had passed away.
He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
Police do not believe that speed, drugs or alcohol were contributing factors in the fatal crash.
