Man, 68, dies following bicycle accident in Kailua

KAILUA, HI – A man has died following a bicycle accident in Kailua on Saturday morning, Hawaii News Now reports.

Emergency Medical Services said the 68-year-old victim was riding on Maluniu Avenue at about 9:15 a.m. when he fell off his bicycle.  He struck his head on the roadway and was critically injured.  The man, whose name was not disclosed, died later after being taken to an area hospital.

Investigators said the man was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, and added that there were no indications of foul play.
