EWA BEACH, HI – Police and paramedics were called to the scene of a fatal car wreck Sunday afternoon in Ewa Beach.
According to a KITV report, the accident happened on Fort Weaver Road near the intersection with Laulaunuui Street.
Investigators determined that a driver traveling at high speed lost control of the car and swerved onto the shoulder of the road. The vehicle then went airborne, collided with a tree and overturned.
The driver, a 29-year-old man whose name was not released, died after being taken to an area hospital. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, police said.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
