Garbage truck strikes 74-year-old woman at intersection in Honolulu

HONOLULU, HI – Paramedics were dispatched to the scene of a pedestrian collision in Honolulu on Saturday morning, according to a KITV report.

The incident happened in the vicinity of Gulick Avenue and N. School Street in the Kalihi area at about 11:11 a.m.  It was reported that a 74-year-old woman was struck by a garbage truck at that location.

Honolulu Emergency Medical Services treated the woman for injuries that were not life-threatening.  She was taken to an area hospital and was listed in serious condition.

No details were released on the circumstances that led to the accident.
