The fatal wreck took place Nov. 21 on Thompson Road near Keokea Place in Kula at about 1:10 p.m. The Maui Police Department said a woman was driving north when she lost control of her vehicle at a bend and went off the roadway. The vehicle crashed into a dirt embankment and partially rolled over.
The driver, identified as 84-year-old Carmencita Goble, was rushed to Maui Memorial Medical Center where she was pronounced dead the following day.
