HONOLULU, HI – A man riding an E-motorcycle was critically injured in a collision in the Kaimuki area on Tuesday morning, the Honolulu Police Department reported.
According to the police department’s Traffic Division, a 67-year-old man was driving eastbound on Waialae Avenue shortly before 6:30 a.m. when he made a left turn into the driveway of 3254 Waialae Avenue. The vehicle was broadsided by an E-motorcyclist who was traveling westbound in the center lane.
The motorcyclist, a 33-year-old man, was ejected onto the roadway. He was taken by EMS to an area hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
The driver of the other vehicle was not injured and stayed at the scene. Investigators do not believe speed or alcohol were contributing factors but have to determine whether drugs were involved.
