HONOLULU, HI – Two men died after their motorcycle was involved in a crash near the Honolulu Airport on Sunday night.
Hawaii News Now reported details of the incident, which occurred on the H-1 Freeway eastbound near the airport viaduct at about 9:25 p.m. Police said a man driving a vehicle struck the back of a three-wheeled motorcycle near the exit for Dillingham Boulevard.
A passenger on the motorcycle, a 55-year-old man, was ejected from the bike, while the motorcycle operator, a 56-year-old man, remained in the cockpit. The two, who were not wearing helmets, both died at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle, a 37-year-old man, was hospitalized in serious condition.
Honolulu police have yet to determine whether speed, drugs or alcohol were contributing factors in the incident.
