Driver extricated from vehicle after accident near Kapolei Parkway

KAPOLEI, HI – First responders were called to the scene of a car accident in Kapolei that left a driver trapped, Hawaii News Now reports.

The incident took place Monday night in the vicinity of Fort Barrette Road and Kapolei Parkway sometime before 10 p.m. Firefighters arrived and extricated the driver from the vehicle.

Medical care was transferred to Honolulu Emergency Medical Services, but no details were disclosed on the severity of the victim’s injuries or the circumstances surrounding the wreck.

Authorities closed the southbound lanes of Fort Barrette Road for the crash investigation, which is ongoing.
