Driver extricated after pickup truck rollover crash in Pearl City

PEARL CITY, HI – A driver was rescued early Saturday morning after his pickup truck crashed and overturned in Pearl City, Hawaii News Now reported.

Emergency crews with the Honolulu Fire Department responded to the intersection of Moanalua Road and Hoomalu Street after the incident occurred at about 2:15 a.m.

The driver, a 53-year-old man, was trapped inside the vehicle after the wreck.   Rescue crews stabilized the pickup and were able to extricate the man through the use of hydraulic rescue tools.

He was transported to an area hospital and was listed in stable condition.

Police are investigating the circumstances that led to the accident.
