HONOLULU, HI – Honolulu police were called to the scene of a fatal rollover accident in the Aiea area late Thursday night.

A report by Hawaii News Now stated that the crash took place on the eastbound H-1 Freeway at about 11:40 p.m.

According to investigators, a driver went off the road and up an embankment before colliding with a metal sign post.  The driver, reported to be a man in his 50s, was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.  He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time.
