KANEOHE, HI – Authorities said a man was killed in an accident after losing control of his car in the Kaneohe area early Saturday morning.
According to Hawaii News Now, the crash happened in the area of Kahekili Highway and Likelike Highway at about 1:25 a.m.
An investigation determined that a 29-year-old man was driving south on Kahekili Highway and failed to negotiate a right turn onto Likelike Highway. The vehicle struck the center median, went off the right side of the roadway and crashed into a guardrail.
The driver was pronounced dead after being taken to an area hospital. His identity was not disclosed. Investigators believe speed was a contributing factor in the wreck.
