Driver, 70, critically injured after striking pole on Kamehameha Highway

HONOLULU, HI – A car accident near Laniakea Beach on Wednesday afternoon left a driver critically injured, according to the Honolulu Star-Advertiser.

The crash happened on Kamehameha Highway at about 2:50 p.m.  Honolulu Emergency Medical Services said a 70-year-old man sideswiped another vehicle before crashing into a pole.

Bystanders came to the man’s aid and started giving him CPR at the crash scene before paramedics rushed him to an area hospital.

Two other men involved in the accident, ages 28 and 27, were treated at the scene but declined to be transported.
