HONOLULU, HI – A man was rushed to the hospital following an accident involving a dirt bike on Sunday morning in Wahiawa, according to KITV.
The Honolulu Fire Department was called to the scene near the Dole Plantation near Whitmore Village at about 10:31 a.m.
A man believed to be in his 40’s lost control while riding a dirt bike and collided with a rock. The rider, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered a serious head injury and was not able to get down a trail on his own.
An HPD helicopter was dispatched, but due to a tree canopy above the location, additional first responders were called in to help the man get to a clearing for the helicopter. He was taken to an emergency room by an an EMS crew and was in serious condition.
