Crash on Kanapuu Drive in Kailua leaves moped rider injured

HONOLULU, HI – A moped rider was seriously injured in a crash in Kailua on Saturday morning, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports.

Emergency Medical Services were dispatched to the scene near Kanapuu Drive after the incident occurred at about 9:15 a.m. The victim, a 42-year-old man, was rushed to an area hospital where he was listed in serious condition. No other injuries were reported.

Kanapuu Drive was shut down in both directions for the crash response and investigation. Drivers were advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
