Collision involving bus and bicyclist shuts down exit off H1 Freeway

KAHALA, HI – Honolulu police and Emergency Medical Services were called to the scene of a collision on Friday morning.

According to a report by KITV Traffic at 11:56 a.m., the incident happened in the Kahala neighborhood and involved a bus and a bicyclist. It shut down the Kilauea Avenue exit from the westbound H1 Freeway, after the end of Kalanianaole Highway.  The Kilauea exit from H1 west bound after Ainakoa was reopened a short time later, but police and first responders remained at the crash scene.

There was no immediate word on the condition of the bicyclist or whether anyone else was injured.
