Collision between car and bicycle in Waikiki leaves rider injured

WAIKIKI, HI – Honolulu police are investigating a traffic collision in Waikiki last week that sent a bicycle rider to the hospital, Hawaii News Now reports.

Authorities said the 30-year-old victim was riding an electric bicycle Tuesday night in the area of Kapahulu Avenue and Ala Wai Boulevard when he crashed into a car at about 9 p.m.

The bicyclist was rushed to the hospital with what Honolulu Emergency Medical Services called multiple traumatic injuries.  He was listed in serious condition.

The driver of the car involved was not injured.
