Moped collision in Central Oahu leaves 2 women seriously injured

WAHIAWA, HI – A moped accident in Central Oahu on Thursday afternoon sent two women to the hospital, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported.

The crash took place in the area of Kaukaonahua Road and Kamananui Road in Wahiawa, near Green World Coffee Farm.

Authorities said two women were riding on a moped at about 5:30 p.m. when they collided with another vehicle.  The two moped riders, ages 24 and 22, were seriously injured.  They were taken to an area hospital by Honolulu Emergency Medical Services.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured.  There was no immediate word on what led to the collision.
