HONOLULU, HI – Honolulu police and first responders were called to the scene of a fatal car wreck on Thursday night.
A report by KITV stated that the crash happened on Aliinu Drive off Farrington Highway, near Ko Olina Resort.
An investigation found that the driver of a vehicle exiting Farrington Highway went off the roadway at about 7:10 p.m. and crashed into a tree. The driver, a 36-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, a 38-year-old man, was taken to the hospital. No details were released on his condition.
Honolulu police said speed was believed to have been a contributing factor in the crash. The westbound off-ramp lane from Farrington Highway to Aliinu Drive was shut down for the crash investigation.
