Boy dies after being struck by vehicle in Hawaii Kai area

HONOLULU, HI – The Honolulu Police Department said it is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred in the Hawaii Kai area.

Police said a male juvenile was hit by a vehicle Feb. 28 on Kukuau Place shortly after 11 a.m.  According to the police department’s Traffic Division, a woman was trying to drive northbound when her vehicle struck the boy, who was in the roadway fronting the vehicle.

The boy, whose age was not released, was pronounced dead after being rushed to an area hospital.  The driver involved, a 37-year-old woman, was not injured and stayed at the scene.
