NOTH KONA, HI – Police were called to an accident involving a bicycle and a bus in North Kona on Wednesday morning, reports Hawaii News Now.
Investigators learned that a bicycle rider collided with a parked bus on Queen Ka’ahumanu Highway near mile marker 94.5 just north of Kohanaiki at about 9:30 a.m.
The bicyclist was airlifted to the Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu with serious injuries.
The incident resulted in road closures for several hours, and Hawaii police advised drivers to avoid the area.
