HONOLULU, HI – A car accident in Honolulu Wednesday morning sent a bicycle rider to the hospital, KITV reports.
Honolulu Emergency Medical Services said a driver crashed into a metal utility pole near the intersection of Keeaumoku Street and Beretania Street shortly after 8 a.m.
The collision caused the pole to topple onto the bicyclist, who was hospitalized in serious condition. No details were released regarding the identity of the victim.
The driver of the car, a 78-year-old man, sustained minor injuries and declined transport to the hospital. Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the crash.
