KAUA’I ISLAND, HI – A bicyclist died from injuries suffered when she was hit by a vehicle in Kauai County last month, Hawaii News Now reports.
Family members identified the victim as 63-year-old Linda Jester of Kauai. The incident happened Oct. 14 along Kuhio Highway at mile marker 1. Jester was riding an e-bike just before sunset while heading home to Hanamaulu when she was struck from behind by the vehicle.
The victim was taken to Queen’s Medical Center and was released after 18 days, but she passed away on Nov. 6.
The driver involved in the collision left the scene afterwards. The family is offering a $5000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the driver.
