Accident on Old Pali Road in Honolulu sends e-scooter rider to hospital

HONOLULU, HI – Paramedics were dispatched to the scene of a crash involving an electric scooter in Honolulu on Monday morning.

A KITV report states the incident occurred on the townbound side of Old Pali Road shortly before 9 a.m.  Honolulu Emergency Medical Services said a 25-year-old man lost control while riding on a standing e-scooter.

The rider, who was wearing a helmet at the time, fell from the scooter and hit the ground.  He was rushed to an area hospital with a possible head injury and multiple abrasions, and was listed in serious condition.

No one else was injured and no other vehicles were believed to have been involved.
