Accident blocks lanes on H-1 Freeway westbound in Makakilo

MAKAKILO, HI – Drivers were alerted to a vehicle crash affecting traffic in the Makakilo area on Monday afternoon.

According to an advisory from the Hawaii Department of Transportation at 2:50 p.m., the accident was blocking all lanes of the westbound H-1 Freeway. Traffic was reported to be getting by on the shoulder of the roadway.

An update was issued later in the afternoon stating all lanes were reopened after the scene was cleared. There were no immediate reports of injuries, and no word on what led to the crash.
