9-year-old boy riding e-bike struck by vehicle in Wahiawa

WAHIAWA, HI – Emergency crews responded to a bicycle accident in Wahiawa on Wednesday afternoon that left a 9-year-old boy injured, according to a WITV report.

Honolulu Emergency Medical Services said the boy was riding an e-bike near the intersection of Makaweo Avenue and Manua Street at about 1:15 p.m. when he was hit by a car.

The victim suffered multiple abrasions and lacerations, and was listed in serious condition after being transported to an area hospital.  He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, officials said.
