70-year-old pedestrian struck by vehicle on Kapahulu Avenue

HONOLULU, HI – Police in Honolulu were called to the scene of an accident that left a pedestrian severely injured on Thursday night, KHON reports.

It happened on Kapahulu Avenue near Herbert Street at about 7:45 p.m.  A 70-year-old man was hit by a vehicle at that location, Honolulu Emergency Medical Services reported.

The victim was rushed to an area hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.  The northbound lanes of Kapahulu Avenue were shut down at Castle Street while Honolulu police officers and first responders worked at the scene. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
