WAHIAWA, HI – Seven people were injured in a collision involving a car and several motorcycles in Honolulu Monday evening, reports KITV.
The Honolulu Police Department said a driver was headed south on Kunia Road in Wahiawa at about 6:40 p.m. when she crossed into the northbound lanes and struck a group of six motorcycle riders head-on. All six were ejected from their bikes and taken to the hospital.
One was listed in critical condition, four others were in serious condition and the other was in good condition. The motorcyclists, all between the ages of 20 and 40, were all wearing their helmets at the time of the accident.
The driver of the vehicle involved, a 41-year-old woman, was seriously injured.
Police are investigating the incident and said it does not appear that speed, drugs or alcohol were contributing factors.
Kunia Road was shut down in both directions between Anonui Street and Lyman Gate for several hours while investigators worked at the scene.
