NANAKULI, HI – Five people were injured when their vehicle was involved in a rollover crash on Farrington Highway last Tuesday night, police said.
According to Hawaii News Now, the incident took place near Tracks Beach Park in Nanakuli at about 9 p.m.
Honolulu police said a man was an SUV east at high speed when he lost control of the vehicle, drove off the road, struck a guardrail and went back onto the highway. The driver swerved off the road again and the SUV rolled down an embankment.
The 23-year-old driver was listed in critical condition after being taken to an area hospital before being upgraded later to serious condition.
Four teenagers who were passengers in the car were hospitalized, a 15-year-old boy and three girls, ages 13, 14 and 16. One was in serious condition while the three others were in good condition.
The eastbound lanes of Farrington Highway were shut down while the wreck was being cleared.
