HONOLULU, HI – Police, firefighters and paramedics in Honolulu were called to the scene of multiple accidents along the H-1 Freeway on Friday morning, Hawaii News Now reports.

Beginning at about 5 a.m., at least three separate crashes took place within an hour. The incidents began with a collision on the eastbound stretch of the freeway near the Kaonohi Overpass in Aiea.

That was followed by a multi-vehicle accident on the westbound H-1 near the on-ramp for 5th Avenue. A third crash was reported a short time later in the area of the Aiea Heights overpass on the freeway eastbound.

No details were immediately released regarding injuries. The accidents were reported to be backing up traffic as shoppers headed to stores for Black Friday.
