2 men injured in Kailua collision involving vehicle and skateboarder

KAILUA, HI – Paramedics were dispatched to the scene of a crash between a vehicle and a skateboarder in Kailua early Thursday morning, KITV reports.

The collision occurred in the vicinity of Hahani Street and Kailua Road. Honolulu Emergency Medical Services, responding to the incident at about 2:25 a.m., found that the skateboarder was suffering from serious trauma injuries after being struck. The victim, a 37-year-old man, was transported to an area hospital.

The driver of the vehicle, a 30-year-old man, was also hospitalized with serious injuries.

No details were immediately released on what led to the accident.
