12-year-old boy struck by hit-and-run driver in Honolulu

HONOLULU, HI – Police said they made an arrest in connection with a hit-and-run incident in Honolulu Friday night, reports Hawaii News Now.

The accident happened on Kiwila Street in the Kaimuki neighborhood, where a 12-year-old boy was hit by a vehicle while walking in a crosswalk at about 9:20 p.m.  The boy was transported to an area hospital with undisclosed injuries.

Investigators said the driver of the vehicle involved, a 16-year-old boy, fled the scene after the crash but was later apprehended and arrested.
