NANAKULI, HI – Police are investigating a hit-and-run collision that injured a pedestrian in Honolulu last week.
According to the Honolulu Police Department, the incident happened Dec. 23 on Farrington Highway in the Nanakuli area at about 5:10 a.m.
It was reported to the department’s Traffic Division that an unidentified motorist was going east and struck a 33-year-old man who was walking partially in the roadway. The motorist kept going eastbound on Farrington Highway without stopping to render aid or provide information.
The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. Police said speed appears to have been a contributing factor in the collision, but it was unclear whether drugs or alcohol were involved.
