Driver seriously injured after car struck from behind on Nimitz Road

HONOLULU, HI – A rear-end collision in Honolulu early Sunday morning sent a driver to the hospital.

According to Hawaii News Now, a woman’s car was struck from behind by another vehicle on the H1 Freeway at about 2:30 a.m.  The impact caused her car to fall from the freeway viaduct onto Nimitz Road.

The woman, age 22, was seriously injured and transported to an area hospital by Honolulu Emergency Medical Services. No details were released on what may have led to the initial crash.
