HONOLULU, HI – The victim of a fatal motorcycle crash in Honolulu last month has now been identified, KITV reports.
The man killed in the June 6 wreck was 23-year-old Jesse Kauahi of Kailua, according to the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office.
Honolulu police said Kauahi was riding a motorcycle east on Pali Highway at about 2:24 a.m. when he lost control of the bike near Nuuanu Pali Drive. The motorcycle hit a concrete curb and Kauahi was ejected onto the roadway. He was pronounced dead after being transported to an area trauma center. The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
Investigators said speed appeared to have been a contributing factor in the incident, but had yet to determine whether drugs or alcohol were involved.
