HONOLUL, HI – A man was injured in a motorcycle accident in the Kalihi area on Tuesday morning, according to police.

A press release from the Honolulu Police Department states that two motorcycles were involved in the collision on Kamehameha IV Road near Aoao Street.

An investigation determined that a 43-year-old man was attempting to turn left from Aoao Street onto Kamehameha IV Road at about 10:54 a.m. when his bike collided with a motorcycle heading northbound on Kamehameha IV Road.

The rider of the second motorcycle, a 21-year-old man, was taken to an area hospital in serious condition.  He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
