Bicyclist, 62, injured after being struck by stolen vehicle in McCully area

HONOLULU, HI – Honolulu police are investigating a traffic collision that left a bicycle rider seriously injured, reports the Honolulu Star-Advertiser.

The incident happened Thursday morning in the area of McCully Street and Citron Street in the McCully neighborhood.  Police said the bicyclist, a 62-year-old man, was struck by a stolen vehicle shortly before 11:40 a.m.

Honolulu Emergency Medical Services rushed the victim to an area hospital with multiple injuries, and he was listed in serious condition.  The suspects involved in the crash abandoned the vehicle, fled on foot, and are now being sought by police.

McCully Street between Waiola and Date Streets, and Citron Street between Wiliwili to Paani Streets were shut down for about two hours for the police investigation.
