KUAKINI, HI – Honolulu police are investigating a deadly hit-and-run incident that took place early Thursday morning.
According to the Honolulu Star-Advertiser, it happened in the Kuakini neighborhood on North Kuakini Street.
Police said the driver of an older model white pickup truck was going east shortly before 3:30 a.m. when the vehicle hit a 51-year-old man who was lying in the roadway. The victim died at the scene.
The driver kept going eastbound after the crash without stopping to help or provide any information, and is being sought.
Police are also trying to determine whether speed, drugs, or alcohol were involved. Anyone with further information was asked to contact the Honolulu Police Department’s Traffic Division.
