HONOLULU, HI – Honolulu Emergency Medical Services rushed a moped rider to a trauma hospital Wednesday morning following an accident in Moiliili, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports.
EMS said the rider was apparently hit by an SUV at about 6 a.m. on S. King Street near University Avenue. The moped rider, a 55-year-old man, was hospitalized in serious condition with a head injury and multiple abrasions.
The man was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, officials said. There was no immediate word on what led to the incident.
