NANAKULI, HI – A driver was critically injured in a multi-vehicle accident in Nanakuli on Sunday morning, reports KHON.
Investigators said a driver heading east on Farrington Highway shortly after 6 a.m. crashed into a vehicle that was stopped at a traffic light waiting to make a turn. The first vehicle spun out and collided with a third vehicle, while the second vehicle was pushed into oncoming traffic and collided with a separate vehicle.
The driver of the first vehicle, a 25-year-old man who was not wearing a seat belt, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. The driver of the second vehicle, an 18-year-old man, sustained minor injuries and stayed at the scene. The driver of the fourth vehicle, a 52-year-old woman, and her 56-year-old male passenger also suffered minor injuries.
Police said speed may have been a contributing factor in the wreck.
