HONOLULU, HI – Two people killed in a motorcycle accident in Honolulu earlier this month have now been identified, reports the Honolulu Star-Advertiser.
The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office said the victims were 36-year-old Giraud Gully of Aiea and 55-year-old Aubrey Barnes of Pearl City.
The incident occurred Aug. 4 on the H-1 Freeway near the Dillingham Boulevard exit at about 9:30 p.m. Police said the two men were heading east on a Polaris Slingshot three-wheeled motorcycle when they were struck from behind by a 2019 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck. Gully and Barnes, who were not wearing helmets, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Toyota driver, age 37, was hospitalized at Queen’s Medical Center in serious condition.
An investigation is continuing into the cause of the crash, and any witnesses were asked to contact the Honolulu Police Department’s Traffic Division.
