MANOA, HI – A two-vehicle collision at an intersection in Honolulu Wednesday morning left one of the drivers dead, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports.
The crash occurred at Oahu Avenue and East Manoa Road in Manoa at about 10 a.m. Police said a driver lost control of his vehicle while headed north on Oahu Avenue, went through the intersection and crashed into a southbound vehicle.
The first driver, a 74-year-old man, was pronounced dead after being taken to an area hospital. He may have been suffering from a medical condition at the time of the crash, according to police.
The driver of the other vehicle, a 71-year-old woman, was not injured and stayed at the scene. Investigators do not believe that speed, drugs or alcohol were contributing factors in the wreck.
