HONOLULU, HI – The woman killed in an accident at a Honolulu cruise ship terminal last Friday morning has been identified, according to Hawaii News Now.

Family members and the Honolulu medical examiner said the victim was 68-year-old Dianna Cricelli of Pocahontas, Illinois.

The driver of a Hilo Hattie shuttle bus struck a group of pedestrians at Pier 2 in the 500 block of Ala Moana Boulevard in the Kakaako area at about 10:30 a.m.

Honolulu police said the driver, a 57-year-old man, was dropping off customers at the pier when a bystander told him that his vehicle was moving forward. The man then jumped back into the driver’s seat, trying to stop the vehicle, but he accidentally pressed the gas pedal instead of the brakes.  The bus collided with two concrete barriers and at least eleven pedestrians.

Nine of those who were struck were passengers for a cruise ship, Carnival Miracle, which was on a 15-day journey that departed Long Beach, California on April 6.

Dianna Cricelli was pronounced dead after being taken to an area hospital.  Her husband, 66-year-old Frank Cricelli, was listed in good condition. The couple was reported to have been visiting family in Hawaii to celebrate their 46th wedding anniversary.

Ten other people were injured in the incident, four seriously.
