HAWAII KAI, HI – A car and a motorcycle were involved in a deadly collision in the Hawaii Kai area on Sunday, KITV reports.
The Honolulu Police Department said a 29-year-old man was riding a motorcycle east on Kalanianaole Highway when the accident occurred at about 5:43 p.m. A 27-year-old woman driving west on Kalanianaole Highway tried to make a left turn onto Nawiliwili Street and collided with the motorcycle.
The motorcycle rider was thrown from the bike and was pronounced dead after being transported to an area hospital. Police said he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The driver of the car and a 30-year-old man who was her passenger were not injured and stayed at the scene.
Investigators do not believe speed, drugs or alcohol were contributing factors in the incident.
