NANAKULI, HI – A man was hospitalized after his motorcycle was involved in a collision on O’ahu late Friday night, Honolulu Police said.
According to a report by KHON, the accident happened on Farrington Highway in the Nānākuli area, where police were called to the scene at about 11:50 p.m.
An investigation by HPD’s Traffic Division Vehicular Homicide Section found that a 27-year-old man was riding a motorcycle west on Farrington Highway when he disregarded a red light signal. The motorcycle collided with a vehicle making a left hand turn and the motorcyclist was ejected from his bike.
He was transported to an area hospital and was listed in critical condition. The man was wearing his helmet at the time of the crash.
The driver of the other vehicle, a 28-year-old woman, was hospitalized in good condition. An investigation is continuing into the cause of the incident.
