NORTH KONA, HI – Hawaiʻi Island police have released the identity of the victim of a recent bicycle accident, reports Big Island Now.
According to police, the man killed in the May 21 crash was 82-year-old Stuart S. Dunn of Kailua-Kona. An investigation indicated that Dunn was riding a Dean Titanium Road bicycle on the right shoulder of Hina Lani Street in North Kona when he crashed at about 5:18 p.m.
Dunn was pronounced dead less than 90 minutes later after being taken to the Kona Community Hospital.
Police do not believe that impairment was a contributing factor in the incident, which remains under investigation.
