One of the many unique stories to come through the Hawaiian Humane Society is Ella, a paraplegic French bulldog, who originally caught the hearts of news media last January when she went up for adoption at Hawaiian Humane.
In need of a family who could provide the care she needed to live her best life possible, she was ultimately adopted by a Honolulu family. Ella’s humans, who both work for Recovery Law Center Hawaii, are now helping Ella give back to other animals in need through her “Ella Gives Back” campaign in partnership with the Hawaiian Humane Society.
Tuesday, February 4 from 9 AM – 10 AM Recovery Law Center was on Living808 to promote the adoption event at the Hawaiian Humane Society, Ella Gives Back. They are gave the event this name because there are so many animals tha tare not as lucky as Ella. She wants to do her part to support the Hawaiian Society and help all of the animals find a fur-ever home like she did.
“Ella Gives Back” will be happening at our Mo’ili’ili campus this Saturday, February 8, from 10 am to 2 pm. All adoption and dog licensing fees during this time will be sponsored by Recovery Law Center. This special will apply for on-campus adoptions only.
Off-site partners, such as the Hawaii Cat Café and partnering Petco stores islandwide, will still have animals available for adoption but with regular adoption fees. Hawaiian Humane regularly has adoption specials so we encourage the public to check our website and social media for more information and announcements.
To learn more about this, see our “Ella Gives Back” Facebook event or email events@hawaiianhumane.org. Check HawaiianHumane.org to learn more about the animals.
