Statistics Are Alarming?
In 2018, 44 pedestrians were killed in crashes in Hawaii, the highest number since 1990, according to the most current annual data from the Hawaii Department of Transportation (HIDOT).
Of those fatalities, 27 occurred on Oahu, continuing a trend that shows most pedestrian accidents happen here.
Statistics from HIDOT are not yet available for the entire year of 2019.
