HONOLULU, HI – Police are investigating a pedestrian accident in the McCully area of Honolulu late Tuesday night that left a man critically injured, according to KITV.
The 61-year-old victim was hit by a vehicle on Kapiolani Boulevard at about 11:50 p.m. Police said he was crossing the roadway in the northbound direction and was struck by a vehicle heading westbound.
The pedestrian, who was not in a marked crosswalk at the time, was taken to an area hospital by Honolulu Emergency Medical Services, and was listed in critical condition.
The driver of the vehicle, a 61-year-old man, was not injured and stayed at the scene.
So far investigators do not believe that speed, drugs or alcohol were contributing factors in the crash.
